Meet the Progressive Health & Performance Team
Our Coaches
Eric Cruz
I started my journey in health and fitness at the age of 13. After growing up as an overweight youth, I found exercise and nutrition as an empowering path for changing my life. Through reading and watching anything I could get my hands on related to health, I became my own experiment and first client.
Anthony Cruz
MY JOURNEY I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and commissioned through the United States Army from Missouri State University. Then, I completed graduate school earning a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Human Performance.
Maria Martinez
A vast majority of people who enjoy staying active or anyone who regularly participates in a sport, from the weekend warrior to the elite athlete, understands that health and fitness is the foundation of their training. However, training is not one-size-fits-all when it comes to improving athletic performance.
Marc Arjona
I am a Kinesiologist, SGX Coach, & Obstacle Course Specialist. I enjoy running Spartan Races and any obstacle course race. Exercise and fitness has been a great journey and I continue to learn new things every time. I enjoy teaching new and experienced clients in fitness and then applying them to bigger goals or goals they would have never dreamed of doing.
Heidi Lunt
I have always had an athlete’s mentality and competitive edge. After having two children, I became more aware of the difficulties and challenges that pregnant and post-partum women face. I absolutely love to not only push myself but to help clients understand that more is not always better, along with the importance of “active recovery.” Balance is key!
BettyLou Deyoung
I have been in the fitness industry since 2018 as a kinesiologist and earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021. My goal is to help alleviate your pain, restore optimal function, and rise to confidence in one’s self that ensures my patients are able to maintain lifelong health and wellness.

Along the way, I found myself in the gym environment leading me to work as a kinesiologist all throughout my educational years. My experiences led me to pursue my title as a Doctor of Physical Therapy so that I can provide a space where people can heal physically, emotionally, and mentally. I enjoy working with all people and strive to influence a lifestyle change allowing others to continue their journey in holistic health and continued fitness.

Amanda Harley
Hello, my name is Amanda and I am a personal trainer certified through ACSM. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sports Science from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. My passion for fitness and helping others lead me to get my kinesiology degree. I recently moved to California from Wisconsin in May 2022.

My name is Alexandria or Alex for short. I have my Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise and Fitness from San Jose State and Masters in Kinesiology from Cal State San Marcos. I currently have certifications in Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) and NASM Women’s Fitness Specialist.
My love for fitness/coaching came from my active life growing up. I’ve always loved exercise and training but when I started college I found my passion for helping others live a happier, healthier life. I love knowing I’ve left an impact on someone’s life and helped them live a healthier life. I love working with weight loss, seniors, and menopausal women clients.
My mission is to help clients reach their goals and break boundaries they didn’t know possible. Feeling confident and strong in their bodies is my goal. Some hobbies of mine are working out(obviously), going wine tasting, and trips to Disneyland.
Gabe Garcia
Growing up, I played various sports, leading me to play soccer at the collegiate level, something I had always been very passionate about. However, as I advanced deeper into my studies, I sparked a fire for exercise physiology and research. This raised the question: Can I do something to raise the bar of capabilities on the field, court, or track?
Carlos Rodriguez
My name is Carlos Rodriguez, one of the Fitness Coaches here to educate, inspire, and motivate anyone who walks through our door from any walk of life. A little bit of my story would go back to me participating in sports with football, basketball, baseball, and a little track.
Loving the activity of playing but also creating connections with teammates and coaches were motivating for me to reach my fullest potential both mentally and physically.
Through playing football in high school, I did have two separate injuries which both led me to needing surgery and physical therapy. One of those injuries was one of the lowest points in my life but lead to being a life changing moment. The physical therapist I had for both injuries challenged me to go into the health and wellness field, so my ultimate goal is to become a Doctor in Physical therapy.
My passion seems to come from people, I enjoy helping people towards their goals whether simple or complicated no matter what demographic/background, “If there is a will, there is a way”. My mission is to show individuals the potential in their bodies, find out why they are experiencing pains and eliminate the discomfort, making daily living activities much easier, and get ready for competitions, camps, or services.
I have a Bachelors in Kinesiology from California State University of Fullerton, a CPT from NESTA, a Stretching Certification, and Functional Range Conditioning Certification. Helping one person at a time no matter what the circumstances is my attitude.
Adrian Huizar
My journey into the field of Kinesiology began with a profound love for sports and their impact on overall well-being. I was deeply involved in an array of sports as a teenager and fell in love with them all immensely.
I was fortunate enough to play 3 years of collegiate-level baseball while earning a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with an emphasis in movement science. Having spent my developmental years participating in various athletic activities, I acquired a deep understanding of the human body’s capabilities and the significance of proper movement in exercise. This grew a profound appreciation for the benefits of not only sports-specific exercises but all-encompassing functional exercises that aim to promote wellness and health through a holistic approach with Kinesiology at the forefront to help tailor individual fitness programs.
At PHP, I am thrilled to contribute my knowledge and passion to empower individuals on their journey towards a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. I am currently earning my Master’s in Kinesiology at Cal State San Marcos, where I plan to take the time to further my understanding of human movement through biomechanics. As a Kinesiologist my goal is to inspire and guide individuals to help them achieve their fitness goals, prevent injuries in sports as well as daily life, and enhance the quality of life. I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a part of a team that encourages interpersonal growth amongst one another and strives to educate the community about not only physical health but mental and emotional well-being. Let’s embark on this journey together!
Ike Okoroike
I have my Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Human Development from the University of California, Davis. I currently have certifications as a Performance Specialist (EXOS), Sprinting and Athletic Performance (ALTIS), and BioMechanics (NESTA).
I recently moved to Southern California, from Northern California for more opportunities. I’ve always been active in exercise and sports at a young age. I learned how to push my body, mental toughness, and discipline for my health and performance. This ultimately led me to a Collegiate Scholarship to run Track.
My journey in coaching started after college as a Volunteer assistant track coach at UC Davis. There, I discovered my passion for assisting others in achieving their goals. I quickly fell in love with the process and expanded to coaching other populations.
My mission is to constantly challenge and lead others to achieve the highest level of sustainable athletic performance and health while providing a safe and fun environment for them to succeed.
Lizz
Elizabeth Wilkins, though most people know me as Lizz. Growing up in a big sports-oriented family, I was surrounded by athletics from an early age. I played volleyball and basketball and developed a deep love for football, all of which shaped my journey into the field of Kinesiology.
Natasha Kasozi
My journey in health, fitness, and performance began through sport. As a lifelong athlete and former collegiate soccer player, I've always understood movement as more than just physical-it's mental, emotional, and deeply personal. After tearing my ACL in high school, I became determined not only to return to the field, but to understand the rehab process from the inside out.
